1. Table Mountain

Not only is it the most famous icon and the centre of Cape Town, but Table Mountain is also a memorable exploration one needs to partake in when visiting or living in Cape Town. Although the Cable Car seems to be the most popular choice in the mode of transport, it costs at about R195 and you do not get to appreciate the proper fauna and flora of Cape Town.

Table Mountain has a wider range of plant and animal species than the entire United Kingdom, so a hike up is the only way in which engaging with it all will suffice. There are a few options in choice of routes one can take, but the most popular one is Platteklip Gorge and it takes approximately 1h30 to complete.  It is a beautiful walk and tends to stay clear away from the masses.
